Team Model

City Roster Roles

Each approved city team can include leadership, professional advisors, and community support volunteers.

Tier 1 - Leadership
CL

City Lead

Primary ROSHNI contact for the city. Coordinates the local CSU team, maintains the city listing on sanaonline.org/roshni, and submits monthly reports to the Committee Chair. Appointed within 30 days of EC approval.

DCL

Deputy City Lead

Fully supports the City Lead and steps in during their absence. Manages inter-city communication and coordinates with the national committee on escalated newcomer cases.

Tier 2 - Advisory Services
LGA

Legal Guidance Advisor

Orients newcomers on immigration status, work permits, PR pathways, and legal rights. Refers to licensed attorneys when required. Need not be a licensed lawyer themselves.

HAA

Housing & Accommodation Advisor

Helps find temporary and permanent housing. Maintains a verified list of Sindhi landlords, Otaq hosts, and trusted rental listings. First call for newly arrived families needing shelter.

ECA

Employment & Career Advisor

Guides job searches, North American resume preparation, interview coaching, and professional networking connections for newcomers entering the job market.

BFA

Business & Financial Advisor

Assists newcomers with opening bank accounts, building credit history, understanding Canadian/US taxes, and registering a business for those seeking entrepreneurial pathways.

Tier 3 - Community Support
SCL

Social & Cultural Liaison

Organizes welcome gatherings, connects newcomers to Sindhi community events, WhatsApp groups, and social circles. Provides moral and emotional support during the transition.

OHC

Otaq Host Coordinator

Manages a registry of established Sindhi families open to hosting newcomers for temporary stays or cultural gatherings, preserving and modernizing the cherished Otaq tradition.

COV

Community Outreach Volunteers

General volunteers supporting the team with translation, transportation, and accompanying newcomers to government offices, healthcare appointments, and orientation sessions.
